The Junior Matchplay program is an excellent stepping stone from coaching to match play. The program helps coaching students with where to stand for point play, communicating with their doubles partners, practicing scoring in addition to a focus on match etiquette. The program prepares players for their first inter club season and gives confidence on the playing match fundamentals so they can focus on their shots and strokes learned in classes. The program is lead by a mix of coaches, parents and mentors.

Max began at East Coburg Tennis Club with the Hot Shots starter program and he now looks forward each week to his lesson with his coach Philip. Along with many other kids keen to play competition tennis, Max took part in the Elite Tennis Academy Junior Matchplay program organised by Lynton, which helped him learn scoring, positioning and sportsmanship. He really enjoyed this introduction to competition and this has given him and the rest of his team mates the skills and confidence to play in their first interclub competition this season, in which they are so far undefeated!’
