Diversity Tennis By Elite Tennis

Elite Tennis Academy is committed to involving everyone in the community, and we have anti-discrimination policies that support a cultural safe, and diversity safe environment.

At Elite Tennis Academy we are committed to regular training and education of our staff and volunteers. We focus on diversity, cultural safety and how-to empower all our students. We believe that all people have the right to feel safe and to be treated with dignity and respect.
One of the programs we run at the Academy is a social tennis night called Gay, Play and Stay (this name was created by one of our cusotmers), it is a social tennis night for people from the LGBTIQ community, but it is also for family and friends. The night consists of Social Tennis, followed by a BBQ and lots of laughter and storytelling. We provide a safe environment where people feel comfortable just to be themselves, and learn how to play tennis, and make new friends.
This event was first introduced in 2017, after a request from a member of the community. After planning and discussions about the event and how it would be run, it was up and running. It provides a safe place for people from a marginalised group to play tennis in a safe environment. We aim to break down barriers at Elite Tennis, and make Tennis an enjoyable and safe activity for all.
